Osteoporosis is known as the quantitative reduction of bone tissue. Its consequences are so severe that they constitute a serious health problem because of its enormous socioeconomic impact.

1. What is it?
Osteoporosis is a disease that involves a progressive decrease in bone mass. This causes the decrease bone strength and can even break from mild trauma or even spontaneously. It is a disease that is generated slowly and can develop without symptoms until you are microfractures that cause physical disability, pain and fractures.

2. Who gets this disease?
80% of people with this disease are women, ie sometimes affects more women than men. It is estimated that one in three postmenopausal women will suffer from osteoporosis.

Postmenopausal osteoporosis is that which occurs in the years following the end of regulation in women. During the ten years following menopause, women lose 50% of their bone mass. This is due to cessation of the action of circulating estrogen in protecting bone mass loss.

An estimated 200 million women worldwide suffer from osteoporosis. In Europe and the United States an estimated one third of women over age 50 will suffer an osteoporosis-related fracture at some point in their lives.

In Spain, have more than three million women and 500,000 is the cause bone fractures a year. Only 300,000 women are receiving treatment.

Increased life expectancy grows the number of women reach menopause, with a consequent increase in osteoporosis will suffer.

Since menopause contributes to loss of calcium from bone, is critical to reach this age with strong bones and well mineralized.

Osteoporosis is a condition caused by decreased bone mass that leads to a susceptibility to injuries such as broken bones, sprains, etc.. The spine is the one who usually receives this weakening as one of the most common symptoms is pain. In general, osteoporosis usually occurs after forty years, although much can be done no doubt to preventable and curable.

What causes osteoporosis?
• An inadequate diet, low in important vitamins and minerals like calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D.
• The decrease in estrogen at menopause.
• excessive diets containing animal protein such as meat, eggs, cheese, etc.. These diets cause calcium excretion through the urine.
• The lack of physical activity causes demineralization of the body.
• The imbalance in the levels of the hormone calcitonin, which controls calcium levels.
• Medications such as antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, birth control pills, steroids and corticosteroids can make a person prone to osteoporosis.
• toxic habits such as excessive coffee, alcohol or refined sugar.
• Imbalances in thyroid and parathyroid glands.

Natural Remedies for esteoporosis :
There is no better cure than prevention. And to start, nothing like a good diet, which must be careful since we are in the womb, as from this very young age the bones begin to form and require no doubt that “support” the mother feeding still provides us while we grow and develop.

But never too late to take action on the matter and help our skeletal system to be very strong and healthy. So if we give a list of beneficial foods for bones that should not miss in your diet:

RECOMMENDED FOOD for esteopororsis : Sprouts, almonds, walnuts, dark green leafy vegetables, kelp, alfalfa, yeast, pollen, soy sprouts and fresh cheeses, tofu (prevents bone decalcification), ginseng (the root system strengthens immune, and protects and prevents deterioration of bones and teeth), chickpeas, beans, lentils, lemon and orange.

EXERCISE: there are so many benefits of exercise on bone and general health that we should not let a day pass without moving and strength for at least 30 minutes. Not have to have a set routine, you can get away with walking, jogging, dancing, swimming or doing home exercises at home as you enjoy flexibility exercises, but keep in mind that outdoor exercise is very beneficial because in addition to contributing good oxygenation to help absorb vitamin D from sunlight, the macula is essential for bone health.

Emotional causes of osteoporosis:
The bones are the backbone of the body, without them, we could not move. The body speaks what we feel and think so, osteoporosis reflects a mood which prevailed in the sense of not being supported in life, or feel that our life has a stable structure in which to trust feel actually incurred.

If you want to eradicate osteoporosis or weak bones, might consider that you are mostly your best support in life and who better knows how to give a structure that really satisfies. So maybe if you consider yourself more confident, to be more firm with the things you want and trust that life provides everything you need if you have really strong will. Remember never too late to begin structuring the lives of our greatest pleasure: There is always something, if you look closely, from which you can begin to move your life with more firmness, strength and great flexibility.
