Venous insufficiency

Venous insufficiency of the lower limbs occur when the veins are unable to return to the heart all the blood that reaches them at the pace and speed due, so the blood stays stagnant.

Symptoms include leg pain, tingling, cramps, varicose veins, ankle swelling, heaviness, spider veins, varicose ulcers.

Care of the legs:

You should not do:

  • Being a long time standing or sitting and especially with your legs crossed.
  • Staying in overheated rooms, hot or humid air.
  • Being a long time in the sun too hot baths.
  • Wear clothes and belts too tight.
  • Transporting heavy shit.
  • Using narrow and pointed shoes.
  • Overeating, consuming alcohol, coffee, tea, sweets and fats.

What to do:

  • Walking and often sports and outdoors.
  • Climbing stairs on foot.
  • Using solid and comfortable shoes, preferably low-heeled.
  • Walking barefoot on the sand. Or in the water from the beach.
  • Bicycling, swimming, etc …
  • Give preference to a diet low in calories and rich in fiber, vegetables, wholemeal bread, etc …
  • Putting your legs over the top of the hip when we are sitting.
  • Place dle legs above head level when we’re lying.
  • Friction massage on the legs, especially if we apply a cream activating local circulation.
  • Cold showers mainly in the morning on rising from the feet to make it hip.
  • Tiptoe or on your heels a few minutes.
